Emanuele Principi
Emanuele Principi (Member IEEE) was born in Senigallia (AN), Italy, in January 1978. He got the Italian Laurea with honors in electronic engineering from the University of Ancona (now Università Politecnica delle Marche, UnivPM), Italy, in 2004, and he obtained his Ph.D. at the same university in November 2009. He was a post‐doctoral researcher from March 2010 to June 2018, and he is a now tenure track Assistant Professor from December 2019 at the Department of Information Engineering of Università Politecnica delle Marche). His current research interests are in the area of digital signal processing and computational intelligence, with a special focus on energy management, smart grids, and speech and audio processing. Dr. Principi has actively participated in various (funded) regional, national, and European projects on multimedia Digital Signal Processing. He is author and co‐author of many international scientific peer‐reviewed articles, and he has been serving as a reviewer for several international journals (e.g., Elsevier Speech Communication, IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, Springer Cognitive Computation, IEEE Access), and conference proceedings (e.g., International Joint Conference on Neural Networks, IEEE International Workshop on Machine Learning for Signal Processing, IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing ). He is an Associate Editor of Neural Computing and Applications and Artificial Intelligence Review both edited by Springer from 2017, and a member of the program committee of several international conferences. He also served as Guest Editor for the Special Issue on “Theory and Application of Computational Intelligence in Electric Vehicles and their Integration within Smart Energy Networks” (Energies, MDPI) and he was the lead organizer of the Special Session on “Deep Neural Audio Processing” that is held yearly within the IEEE International Joint Conference on Neural Networks. Dr. Principi is member and secretary of the Adriatic section of the Italian Association of Electrotechnics, Electronics, Automation, Computer Science and Telecommunications (AEIT - Associazione Italiana di Elettrotecnica, Elettronica, Automazione, Informatica e Telecomunicazioni).
